Info from Big Jim (6May2015)
Just to keep you informed,
As of today we have raised 4,207 dollars ,our 30 members contributed 2,142 dollars
My local chapter of the VVA last night at a meeting voted to donate 1,000 dollars to the project. And Member Rene Hoover of MIUWS (VUNG R0) 1968 sent 1,000 dollars.
I would like to thank you and all our members who have donated to this very important project. And a special thanks to Chapter 1041 of the VVA ,Stuart Fl.
And Rene Hoover, also Frank Jones of MRFA. We also had contributions from Army, and Air Force friends ,and sponsors.
I will send you a list of names that have contributed so far.
The starting date for this project will be just after Memorial Day ,so we don't interfere with the Seal Museum 's programs
Dave Preston, who was stationed with us in Nhatrang has been a big help to us and Volunteers at the museum .
I have a meeting with Rick Kiser ,And Ruth on the 21st to make sure we are all on the same page
I also have a meeting with the man who is going to do the job before that. He is the guy who first put the teeth in the boat.
We are 1,192 dollars away from the goal .
Although I am very great full for the support of the people who have donated,
I am very disappointed in the membership who have not donated.
20.00 dollars per man is not a lot to ask for to preserve the memory of our 13 fallen brothers.
IUWG-1 is not all about reunions , it is also about our KIA brothers.
This restoration will insure our place at the Seal Museum for years to come.
I need your help . You can re -write this or send like it is ,and ,or put it on the web site,
But we need to get a reminder out to all members, paid up or not. To please help Out.
